As someone who suffered mouth and lower jaw cancer

As someone who suffered mouth and lower jaw cancer at the same time as separation from my wife (and later divorce at about the same time as a botched jaw reconstruction surgery involving about 8 inches of my right fibula - and a lung embolism and collapsed lung and blood poisoning and my heart stopping beating for a bit), and later required tissue from my right breast/chest to finally close up my neck after undergoing other surgeries to try and resolve the problem, I can relate to this song as I have slipped into alcohol dependency just to fall asleep at night. I am 58 years old and used to listen to Alice in Chains “back in the day”. Down in a Hole is a great song. Anyway, just crying now and looking to get through this night.

Hello Friend, Thank you so much for your post.
You have been through so very much, I cannot even begin to image how you have struggled both physically and mentally during this time.
To be given a diagnosis of cancer must be truly frightening and leave a person (you) feeling like you dont know where to turn and to have the person who you would expect to lean on not be there is a huge smack iin the face.
All that you went through was an experience that would change anyones life and it is understandable if not dreadfully sad that you reached for alcohol.
I want to say that I think you are incredibly brave for fighting and now for sharing how you feel. You are not alone friend, we are here for you, with you as you read this, please know how loved you are and how much we want peace for you.
Have you anyone in your life you can share your feelings with? do you get any mental health care after going through so much? I wonder if anything had been offered to you? Would it be at all possible to find out if you havent whether or not there is anything available, friend you have been to hell and back and that takes a lot to get past, it is not a weakness to have help with that, it shows strength, you have shown strength by taking this step towards hopefully a better future. I send love and best wishes to you and would love for you to stay in touch with updates. Lisa x
