Getting there

Hey all, so I’ve been feeling rather lonely for a while now and just started working on me because of it. I have started going to the gym, which was rather nerve-wracking at first, but slowly getting used to it. Had a free PT session which led to me taking up boxing, which I have been enjoying quite a lot. I’m going to keep this up, but find that I want to be more social these days which I’m having some trouble with. Another activity that I wanted to start doing though, archery, is starting a beginners course in February, which I’m hoping I can psych myself up to go. Hopefully this will be a more social activity and help me take the next step.

I have thought about streaming also, as I do play video games a fair bit in my spare time. Not sure I’m ready for that yet, but maybe sometime down the line I could give it a try.

That’s so awesome, I’m excited for you. I absolutely love boxing and it’s a great workout, and I have always found a good workout, whether it be boxing or cardio, to be good for clearing the mind.

Archery is really fun too. I was teaching myself to shoot a recurve bow before I got pregnant. I really miss it, just don’t really have the energy for it while growing a human. I really look forward to getting back into it though.

You’re doing great, I think you’re moving in a very positive direction. Keep it up. You might find through becoming more active and especially with something like boxing, you will become more confident and it will be easier to be more social.

There are absolutely amazing goals @AnxiouslyAlone. I’m so glad to see that you’ve been trying boxing and are willing to take some steps further with archery and streaming. It’s so good to have goals like these, and to keep moving forward as you also keep changing yourself and your habits.

As for streaming, feel free to ask questions to the streamers of the HS community if you need. It’s always neat to have people who are open about their own experiences and give some feedback. I think it can be tough at the beginning as for any other activity - it takes time to gain a new dynamic. But as long as you do it for you first and foremost, then it can only be yet another fulfilling activity for you.

Thank you so much for sharing your progress with us here. It is inspiring. :hrtlegolove:

Hi AnxiouslyAlone, It is very nice that you have found things that you like to do, hobbies that you have passion for and just being able to calm your brain down in general. I personally also have problems with when it comes to socialising (let’s be honest, we all do :upside_down_face:) but that’s fine and I’m sure that you can cope with it! Keep yourself occupied and having fun, stay healthy and let’s do this! :hrtlegolove: SuchBlue
