Hey friend.

Thanks so much for lending your voice to the comments here and for being vulnerable with a topic that is incredibly difficult.

While I can’t pretend that I’ve experienced what your feeling or what that may be like, reading through the comments here and listening to this song several times has given me some level of understanding and I am so sorry.

You mentioned OIF. I was still just 11 years old at the time and never could have grasped what was happening around the globe.Regarding your guilt - is that something you’d be willing to vent about or get off of your chest? I know that sometimes, talking about it can bring things back in a way that can do more harm than good. But if you want to vent and scream into the void a bit, you’re more than welcome to do so here.

I hope you are safe and ok friend. I hope that you are taking care of yourself as best as possible.

You’re welcome here any time. Hold fast. Please.

Hi,

Thank you for sharing this here. I can only imagine how heavy that guilt must feel, and I’m so sorry you’re carrying it. Being an OIF vet comes with experiences and emotions many of us can’t imagine, but please know you’re not alone. Guilt is a tough burden, but it doesn’t define who you are or the sacrifices you’ve made.

There are people who understand, and support is out there. We’re here for you if you ever feel like opening up more in an anonymous space. You’re not alone, and your story matters.

Take care of yourself

Hello there,

I see you have alot of guilt on you and honesty i have not been in that type of position as a vet like yourself but it probably been alot. Most likely that guilt you’re feeling is definitely alot with the only options is to accept and move on from this past experiences which takes time but you deserve to not have all this weighing you down. We are here for you and alot of others have experienced this guilt veterans or not. Keep pulling through and take it easy on yourself you done alot out there and hope what i said helped you and gave you that support to work through this.

Hold Fast.

Thank you for your service and your courage. I can’t begin to imagine the depth of your experiences with losing friends and fellow troops in battle or on a mission.
All I can say is that it is not your fault that you survived when so many others didn’t.
Hold Fast.
