I am having anxiety, depression and suicidal thoughts

I am worried, depressed, and I have been in love with the idea of killing myself for a long time. I have came up with a bunch of ideas of committing suicide but never works. I have good things happening to me in life though. I am a musician that plays, drums, guitar, bass, singing and screaming. I play a lot of metal music and metal music has helped me deal with these thoughts. I am currently in a metal band with good friends of mine and they also care a lot. My band also really helps me with my depression, anxiety and suicidal thoughts. I feel like those thoughts will never go away no matter how long I live in life. I have wonderful parents, wonderful brothers that care so much about me. Most of the days in my mind I just feel like no one cares and I’m the only one that struggles with depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts. I have cut myself before as well.

Thanks for sharing and it sucks to feel those things. I’ve definitely dealt with some of it. It’s cool you have a support system around you and it’s awesome you can lean on them. One tip that’s worked for me which sounds odd, is when I’m feeling really anxious and stuff I put something cold on the back of my neck and it helps take the edge of. It’s some medical thing with a nerve in your neck a therapist told me about but it’s helped for me so I thought I’d share.

Absolutely! I feel like its very important to share these thoughts because if you never talk about it, then you feel much worse in life. And thanks for sharing your story.

Sometimes the hardest thing to do is reach out when you need help but I can honestly tell you that’s the best thing you can do because a lot of the people who love you and care about you might be unaware of whats going on. id suggest you bring brothers and or friends in on whats going on they should be a people your comfortable with people you trust . then just be real with them and tell them the truth. I also suggest that you tell your support system that you need them to help lift you up. also remember your worth more than anything the world has to offer and your special nobody else is like you. I suggest living in the now and focus on all the good you are doing by sharing your life and music with so many people. you have my respect and support as a fellow musician.

Please see a psychiatrist. People don’t know this, but depression and feelings of suicide CAN be triggered by high blood pressure! How do I know this? Because my physician told me so! Please do not assume your depression is a matter of what has happened to you. My depression was also a matter of what is called " Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus" more commonly known as “water on the brain”. Some folks feel the need for a therapist would make them feel like crazy people, but I can ASSURE you this is not the case. Psychiatrists are medical doctors with a specialty in psychiatry, and given this, he/she can figure out whether your problem is emotional or physical. God bless and good luck.
