I love this song. FFDP is amazing… I listened to all their stuff once it started coming out around 07… spent 6 years in Iraq/Afghanistan and I just haven’t coped with regular life since getting back… lived in veterans housing for a bit, thankful for them everyday cuz idk where I’d be without their help back when I finished my last tour, then came home and fell apart… got divorced lost both parents to cancer… I have no support system except for my soldiers from my last platoon… but I was their platoon sergeant so it’s hard to show vulnerability… the battle in my head has been too much… I have nightmares nearly every night… this song has been my alarm since being done… I met Ivan Moody in Mosul, Iraq cuz FFDP came out to meet the troops (he was a marine) and the whole band is awesome… I love all the music you play—it’s legit all stuff on any one of my multiple Spotify playlists… music is what has gotten me through everything and helps me continue to find a reason to keep going.

Definitely music does help in alot of situations that we go through and can sometimes help us through the pain we process throughout in everyday living. Again, what you did in your time in service means alot to us and you writing this message you definitely fought a battle but even through another way especially with lost of family to cancer and you deserve that support system that you’re looking forward too. But also you’re still talking to other soldiers from you’re platoon you were definitely important to them being a Sargeant and i bet they been through alot as well. Definitely some hard things to face when you got out of war and going back to just living at home it a big change. You been through alot here even though you have these nightmares you done some amazing things especially for your fellow soldiers and alot of others as well. Keep your head high and remember to keep enjoying music that makes day.

Thank you for your service Sir.
The nightmares can be crucial, amd hard to manage. Just know you are a great sergeant, who also had change other lives that matter as well. Sorry to hear you lost a love one through Cancer, so have I.
It can be life changing. My deepest condolences and sorry for the divorce that also can be wrenching.

Being a soldier and having that transition from a platoon to regulate a home cant be very difficult to handle as well. Emotionally it takes a toll out of you. I am glad music has helped you calm your storms through out your life. Continue listening to music soldier. You got this.

-BE STRONG,
-ONE DAY AT A TIME
-MEDITATE TO FOCUS ON YOUR INNER SELF.

IS OKAY NOT TO BE OK.

TALK TO A COUNSELOR, IF You feel comfortable.

Blessing your way Soldier.
Thank you for your service.

@@HeartSupport thank you for such an amazing response.

Back in 2017, I went to a four week inpatient thing at the va with a daily regimented schedule, where I learned how meditate, as well as other self-help tools… I def need to meditate more, and start seeing a therapist (used to go weekly to the VA in Minnesota—but moved to Austin Texas for work, and it’s been surprisingly difficult to get traction with the local VA since getting here).

Thanks again :yellow_heart:

I can imagine how difficult it can be to find a VA in texas.
Hey you be surprise if you ask around familiar people. Also depend where in Texas you are located as well, where VA are located.

Hope all goes well soldier.
Meditate :man_in_lotus_position: for sure.

You got this.

God bless

Just know that your brothers look up to you and love you as much as you do. They see you as a leader, not only on the battlefield, or military rank, but as an older brother. Opening up to them will be even more rewarding, because you show that you’re also not as impenetrable and opens up healing for both you and your brothers. That will only strengthen everyone. The more we paint a good picture about everything to mask the pain, the more it just eats away at your souls. Opening up about yourself will open your brothers up. Showing humility as a leader is what makes an admirable leader. We all drink the same water and bleed red. Confide in your brothers because I’m sure they deeply care about you. It’s perfectly fine to be human. God bless.
