I’ve been helping and supporting people on this website as an offering to God. But I gave up quickly.
God doesn’t give a shit. I feel alone and depressed all the time, I feel like nothing I do is good enough for God. So I don’t offer anything up anymore. But now I feel cursed.
What should I do?

Gosh… I’m not religious at all, so my advice may not be as on point as some other people here on the wall. That being said, maybe you could set up a call or (when the pandemic is over) a meeting with someone from the ranks of a church you belong to.
Hopefully they could help out with that feeling of being cursed. Anyone who posts on this wall to try to help other people is far from cursed in my mind, so I want to thank you for what you have done. The people you talked to would say the same thing I’m sure.
I’m battling depression as well. It sucks a lot… I wish there was a cure all or something I could say to make you feel better friend… but I don’t even know what I should say to myself. You are good enough to God, your friends, the people on this wall, and many many others too.
You will get through this, and hopefully your faith can grow stronger again. You are not alone. Don’t give up. Things can get better. Let’s just take one step at a time.

I have seen you around. The fact you take time out to encourage others and lift each other up is enough. Seriously.
I’m sorry that you are struggling and feeling depressed right now. Be sure to take care of you too. <3 Not just others.

I don’t want to be a downer, but it seems to me that if you are supporting people to try and somehow earn God’s approval, your perspective is probably off. You don’t have to earn God’s approval, because it isn’t based on what you do or don’t do. I don’t know you, but I believe that God absolutely gives a shit about you, just like he cares about all the people you want to try and support.
I don’t know what your religious or spiritual background is, but I’ve struggled with some of those feelings. I grew up in a family and church where I was constantly hearing the ways I am not good enough. It took a long time to learn that this is faulty thinking. I have learned that joy is something freely given by God and good works are done from an overflow of gratitude, not the other way around. Working toward something impossible is exhausting.
I don’t know you well, but I don’t think you’re cursed, or doomed to stay unhappy. The struggle is intense, and it’s real. You’re not fighting alone. The real fight isn’t to make ourselves valuable or good, but to remember what things are true and worth living for.

I prayed to God about what he wanted me to do next and I felt led get on this website again. Let me tell you that it is not a coincidence that I am on here, and that I saw your comment and knew that you are who God wants me to speak with. “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” God cares about you deeply! Also, God cares about you trying to help others on this website and through other ways. Even if it does not always feel like it, he does. I know one thing our feelings as humans can deceive us. We have to test our minds as well. This world is broken and the enemy wants to steal, kill, and destroy your happiness and make it look like God does not care. However, Jesus loves you so much, just imagine laying in the arms of a strong God who wants to help you and bore all our iniquities on a cross so that you can live again. I am sorry you feel alone and depressed but I am here to tell you are never alone and you can always run into God’s arms. Even if you don’t feel anything at first he is there. Additionally, we humans are imperfect and we will never be perfect or hold up to the standards of God, because we can never be him. God sent his only son that we can be set free from our sins :). It is not by merely our works we get to be with God in heaven but through belief in his son. And we can always ask forgiveness for our wrongdoings when we truly repent.
Lastly, just to say this again, God cares for you! Mathew 10:29 "Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. 30 But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. "
You are not cursed, but blessed. As long as you have breath you have a purpose on this earth. Salvation from God is a gift ( Ephesian 2:8)
nothing we could do alone could take away our sins but the blood of Jesus.
