My brother overdosed last year and I’ve been battling with depression since before that time, sometimes I wonder how someone as talented as Layne can have such a haunting ending when he’s given inspiration to so many including myself

Thanks for reaching out to HeartSupport - I am so glad I get the pleasure of reading your post and giving you a reply that hopefully gives you some glimmer of hope and support to brighten you day.
Just know that everyone that replies to you is a real human being and not some automated bot somewhere spewing out cliches and buzzwords. I have never struggled with a chemical addiction before, but I understand that the misery and pain that it brings the individual themselves is often overshadowed by helplessness and agony of those loved ones around that person. I know Layne battled his demons hard and ultimately cut everyone else off and ended his life in a sea of sorrow. I am so sorry that your brother had the same fate. I am also sorry to hear that you have been battling depression for quite some time, and I am certain that with the right treatment, help, maybe medication, you can right the ship and get back to place where you are happier. Take care and know you are not alone, we are always here to listen and support, and just love on you and everyone we reply to. Be well!
Hello there,
I am so sorry to hear about your brother. That kind of loss is unimaginable, and it totally makes sense that you are struggling with depression after such a horrible event.
I am so glad you find some kind of comfort in people’s music and inspiration from people’s stories.
Remember that even when you think that you’re alone, you are not alone
