The last few days I fell back into my fear of swallowing again even though I haven’t choked on anything. I’m eating super slow and I’m depressed about it.
It is completely normal for old fears to suddenly resurface. I think that the best way for you to move past this is by talking to friends and family or a therapist. If you keep this to yourself then it may make it more difficult for you to be able to move past this. Keep in mind that moving past a fear also takes time and you do not need to feel like you should hurry up and get over it.
I know I’ve been seeing a therapist for 4 years and she suggested self hypnosis and other meditating and breathing exercises. Church and Prayer has helped as well.
