Losing someone we love to someone else is a devastating experience. Feelings of confusion, betrayal, anger, guilt can overwhelm us along with all of the unanswered questions. We may replay our role or moments in the relationship over and over trying to make sense of it and to figure out how to fix it. It can leave trapped in the past and without hope or a sense of a future. It’s disorienting. I’m sorry you are going through this. It can seem impossible to imagine life any differently or believe things will get better. Reaching out and sharing these thoughts has helped me put things in perspective and to process my emotions. I’m so glad you reached out and shared what you are going through because we aren’t meant to deal with these things alone. And I want you to know you are loved and that we are here to support and encourage you. I’m praying that you are able to find comfort and peace and healing. It’s not easy, but you are not alone!
These moments, especially when they are fresh, seem insurmountable. I can’t imagine the thoughts going through your mind, but I can tell you that you are not alone in this struggle. Even if the future seems bleak, there are people that want to see you not only get through this, but prosper. Someone once said “living well is the best revenge,” and I invite you to do that. Even if you’re not seeking revenge, it can do wonders for your spirit, and could show those same people that wronged you that you are stronger than the malice in their hearts. Keep reaching out, and keep holding on.
