A lot of the time, we’re repulsed by vulgarity. But underneath, it’s actually a vulnerability. People who shout obscenity are actually whispering help me.

Can you relate? Open up in the comments.

Idk if this necessarily has to do with what you said because im kinda slow, but I’ve known people who say that they want to off themselves all the time. Most of the time these were people I know who were in bad shape. Trauma or hopelessness, whatever it may have been. They didn’t actually mean that they wanted to be gone, they just thought that saying something like that would maybe get people to worry, to get the attention that they never got, to ask for help.
Not sure if there’s any truth to that or if that’s relevant to this. Just something I noticed.

Say the weird thing…. “ living ain’t all it’s cracked up to be, at least for me”… and I know others who feel this way.

Please do more nine inch nails!

Please react to more NIN, please! Trent Reznor is a freaking musical genius

Please, React to Your Favourite Martian - Alien
(It’s a very powerfull song)

Thank you for this important thought, which I totally agree with! In many songs Trent Reznor seems disconnected from his desperation, lost in a distant place in his mind, and this makes his suffering more dramatic and intense. I recommend you “Hurt”, “And All That Could Have Been”, “Right Where It Belongs”. Thank you

what you said reminded me of the song Full Nelson by Limp Bizkit

Help me, I’ve got no soul to sell

Yes, the song became a strip club anthem because of the catchy chorus and the beat. But lyrically you can tell the song is actually quite depressing. Really lays into the narrative he had going on with that album.

“Ruiner” and “Mr. Self-Destruct” (which are two different names for the same antagonist in the story) are both great songs you might want to check out by NIN. Has a very Jungian theme about the protagonist’s “shadow”.

Have you ever considered that in the oral tradition where they say
“Do not despair of the mercy of Allāh. Indeed, Allāh forgives all sins.
Indeed, it is
He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.,”
The most quoted prophet is actually Jesus?

Good song, surprised it’s getting any attention 30 years later
I always took the ‘help me’ as a seks addict asking for his fix.
