I love that the heartsupport channel is reacting to this. I’ve met Jake Lurhs A few times…considering ABR is my favorite band, and always a pleasure to talk to him and Matt. Love that entire band so much. And yes this is such a great song!

During my struggles with social anxiety disorder and depression I always felt that extreme music like screamo-rap, metalcore, deathcore etc. reflected the chaos inside my own head, like the vocalist was expressing the emotions I was feeling myself. Nowadays, after much therapy and feeling better, I still enjoy it, but I listen to it much less. NF was also a massive support for me, especially drifting and chasing have a deep connection to the emotions I felt at the time, drifitng for my depression and chasing for struggling with the fact that I kept finding myself in the same place, breaking down in tiredness and sadness due to stress.
They will be coming back to Incarceration this year! 2023 show was crazy good!

Edit: on a 2nd thought - the statement of the band name “Slaughter to Prevail” is… well… “strong” and (at least in me) invokes strong associations of “darwinism”
