Therapist experiences PinkFloyd for the first time. (Comfortably Numb)

You picked the best version that I have ever heard for this song. Always one of the top 10 songs EVER!

I hope you won’t stop here with Pink Floyd!
Also, I just want to say (without shade) that I find it amusing that you chose the live version specifically to have something with action (0:20), and then proceeded to close your eyes for large swaths of the action that happened… at least they were open for the mirror ball opening.

This song has two of the GREATEST guitar solos in history. David friggin Gilmour is on my guitar Mt Rushmore with SRV, Eddie Van Halen, and Jimi. A lot of people who listen to Floyd make the mistake of just picking a song and listening to it. People don’t realize that when you get artists today they release albums with 13 random songs that absolutely nothing to do with each other. This song is from The Wall and at this point in the journey into Pink’s madness he’s being drugged yo by his manager to get him onstage. If you’re gonna do Floyd you have to either do the album in one sitting or do them consecutively. The Wall is based on Syd Barrett’s descent into madness. The man in the movie that plays Pink is Bob Geldorf who was the man who created Live Aid in 1985. One does not listen to Pink Floyd, one experiences Pink Floyd. They were the kings of concept albums in which they were books and each song was a page in that book.

Such an amazing song! Standing alone it is simply an epic moment. Further understanding would be to listen to the whole album

I had the same feeling in the hospital as a child 104° when I get sick I feel the same way. But once I saw it it was a light when I was talking to God. When I turn it moved away fast. They were ease dropping on my conversation.

The whole wall album is a story line for psychologist to dive into. These songs are parts of the main characters life. This is the rock star near the end so high his girl left him

don’t overthink it. Just light up, lean back and enjoy

Wow - what a powerful video of Pink Floyd!

Unbelievable, she says she want to see visuals then closes her eyes through most of the song.

No one will ever play guitar like that again. I guarantee it. This is the best solo for all of time.

I dare you to watch the video for “The Trial” Pink Floyd

Dark Side of the Moon…from start to finish, with head phones NO LYRICS for the first run through (or 2 or 3) THEN with lyrics…also Shine on You Crazy Diamond…read up on Pink Floyd & Syd Barrett…

“Comfortably Numb” is, of course, a part of the concept album The Wall. At this point of the story the protagonist, Pink (guitarist David Gilmour, possibly an avatar of former band member and actually mentally-ill person Syd Barrett), has been sedated into near-insensibility with psych meds, and he’s talking to his psychiatrist (keyboardist Rick Wright, backed on vocals by bassist Roger Waters).

NO ONE can be faulted for closing their eyes and letting themselves be be lifted and carried away by David Gilmour’s guitar. But Pink Floyd live is a total sensory experience. Do yourself a favor and watch this agian and get the entire experience!

you must watch antoher brick in the wall videio clip by pink floyd.

You’ve just experienced the greatest guitar solo ever.

This song brings back those days when I was young and Pink Floyd was the tunes of my life.
I had a friend I worked with years ago who was also a huge Pink Floyd fan. Friday night we’d get some beer, some weed and sit and space put to Pink Floyd, discussing what it meant, what the music did for us. It was a magical time. Those days are gone.:cry:

As a therapist you should listen to Time followed by The Great Gig in the Sky from the Album Dark Side of the Moon.

Miss Please apply your “Therapist analyzes” to their CD “Wish you were Here”. Please understand they lost a foundering member to insanity. In an ugly, public manner. So Bad the band broke up in 2012 (?) over unending conflicts & agony.
Don’t take my word for it. Ask AI.

that was a solorgasm, the greatest of them all :sunflower:
