Check out “Where We Go When We Die” by them. The last section of that song does things to me haha.

I actually have a theory its about. Everyones obsession with “the Dark Pool” album. She’s literally in a dark pool, and the girl is everyone who cant stand Thornhills new sound, Because they overly obsess over that album.
Mind you, That album is a 10/10 and will never die. but, to me, this is a “fuck you” to everyone who judges them now.

I kinda see the woman in the water as their debut album. Or maybe not the woman herself but the glass box of dark water. Anyways, that album had a sound that really resonated with a lot people, and a massive chunk of their fanbase has gave them a lot of shit for this shift in sound. Keep telling them to go back to it, like they’re OBSESSED with it. It was called “The Dark Pool” so that symbolizes it perfectly. I could be wrong but that just makes so much sense to me.

Thornhill are an absolutely phenomenal band. I’d definitely recommend their album Heroine. Every track on that album is pure gold.

At it’s core it’s about being in a lemeret relationship. I really needed it when I discovered it. I lived this song for the better part of a year and am still dealing with it.

You should check out the band Tiny Ships-fear the blur
Song musically has a fun vibe but the lyrics are INSANELY dark. Interesting way to talk about mental health issues.

Came to enjoy some thornhill and a reaction, left with some deep work to process about the people I’ve put on pedalstools in past relationships and my own trauma and insecurities,. 10/10 experience.
