The song Nutshell by Alice in Chains powerfully captures the isolating darkness that often comes with depression and addiction. Its lyrics reflect the struggle of feeling trapped in pain and hopelessness, unable to break free. But, just as even the hardest nutshell can crack open over time, we can start to break free from these cycles with small, intentional steps.
The journey might feel overwhelming if we look at the entire problem all at once, making it easy to feel like there’s no way out. But by focusing on the next small step we can take, no matter how small it seems, we can begin to chip away at the walls that hold us back.
If you’re in that place today, comment by tagging @HeartSupport and we will support you. You don’t have to take these steps alone—open up, reach out, and let’s work together to make those cracks in the walls.

Don’t worry, we were all moved by this performance. Still makes me feel tremendous sadness
He didn’t last long after this concert. RIP Layne. A man singing at his own funeral.
This song explained me without addiction but going through my divorce , Jeez I’m glad it’s over !!
I leave myself at 3:31 every Friday. Sometimes that guy doesn’t want to comeback Monday.
As an addict you hit the nail on the head. The addict is NOT themselves, they are their worst fears in full force, that’s why it is so hard to quit. I’m 6 years clean and this is my second time being clean. It’s not easy but once you forgive yourself, you can truly be happy
I believe that he never got over the DEATH OF HIS GIRLFRIEND DEMRI PARROT/ PAROT, she was the “Inspiration” for the song “LOVE, HATE, LOVE” if you haven’t seen that performance yet, IT IS A MUST, because that is HIM IN HIS PRIME, AT HIS VERY BEST, before he became consumed with his addiction. This performance is GREAT, BUT IT IS NOT HIS BEST.
Heaven beside you and would and man in the box come on gorgeous
Its “i feel better dead” but okay
It’s sad that addiction killed him
I love it you look like the type of person that doesn’t just listen to music. You become one with the music and it can take you away. When I listened I’ll close my eyes and become lost in a mental High of beauty and melt into the song and become one with music. Also with no drugs and alcohol included. I almost kind of considerate hallucinating to the music in falling into a trance somewhat. Keep doing you love the videos.
