Custer by Slipknot is a reminder that people will often fight to destroy things that they don’t understand about themselves in the world. “People will fight against, what they think can destroy them”. The risk with this is that we often fighting and destroying things, relationships and opportunities that could help us.

This song is a call to fight to understand before you fight to destroy. Because often once understanding has been achieved the goal of the fight often changes. So instead of fighting the things we don’t understand in ourselves and in others we can use this song as a call to embrace them.
