I saw a comment from someone that pointed out that Violet’s dad could well be the father of the the twins as she could easily have been pregnant when she left home at 16!

The line at the end is so insanely good. „It happened on these very streets”, they died where they were born. „Lying side by side”, because when they died they also lied side by side, just one street apart. So poetic.
I could tick of a multitude on your checklist, Initially I went the “silent” route, but a concious choice to not become my father and alot of work, allows me at times to be more extrovert. Trauma treatmen because of PTSD from my childhood in adulthood turned the light on and allowed me to really LIVE. I can understand how and why others stumble down other paths, but I’m really gratefull I managed to become a reflective fairly well adjusted adult. My need to help others is often self destructive, but I’m atleast aware of it and can try to limit it a bit.

I didn’t read enough comments to see if someone mentioned this… but some suspect that Violet was impregnated by her birth father before she escaped that abusive environment. Stevie the prick calls her such a liar because she’s 9 months pregnant and they may have not been dating that long.
I found Ren about a year ago myself, and have returned to his music again now in summer '24. As a survivor of abuse myself (10 yrs emotional abuse/gaslighting/manipulation in a toxic marriage to an alcoholic), I relate so much to the ‘silence’ of Violet and Jenny.
For context, I am a stocky guy at 6’2 and 200+ pounds, diagnosed autistic at age 33 (2010). Which is why many people are shocked that my trauma response, or really my response to any crisis situation is to freeze, to go silent…
So yeah, I really relate to the ‘freeze/silence’ trauma response. That’s me…
