Therapist analyzed the lyrics of Master Of Puppets by Metallica to discuss learned helplessness and how people who struggle with addiction and mental health often feel as if they are puppets and their struggles are the puppeteers. The therapist provides a new way of listening to this song and posits that shouting back toward the master is a key part of moving forward.
Hey I have a update on my mental health. I have been a fighter my whole life from birth and for some reason I don’t know how to quit for good. So Iong story short I’m not stable yet but I am on the road to stability. I’m on a good combo of meds that are working. My desire to be better is finally greater than the fear of what getting better looks like. So I just want to hop on here and say thank you for the encouragement to keep trying. For context I responded on the 45 by Shinedown reaction
You are really missing out an Imminence. They play the violin while they sing and it is more of a medical core song and they have a lot to do with the way they feel and depression and stuff like that you get a folks experience of imminence.
Exactly what this song is about. Anyone can hear that listen to the song. But I also thought anyone over 20 had heard of,or know this song. How could you not???
For the song itself, studio version sounds better IMO, but that doesn’t really matter in the scope of this channel. Great video as always, great breakdown and analysis, with great advice at the end.
This is a song about addiction as told from the drug’s point of view. This video is from a full length movie by Metallica called “Through the Never”. I highly recommend watching it.
Musically the song also says a lot, you can feel the “strength, adrenaline, anguish and frustration” in each musical segment regardless of the lyrics.greetings from Argentina
The ‘addiction’ can also be to mental addiction to something like a cult, deserving of abuse but hating it, etc. I might not remember correct, but in the past I think I remember why the song has ‘phases’: the first is because the addict ‘needs more’, the 2nd is the addict getting the ‘fix’, then the 3rd realization the ‘why do I do this! i know this is bad’ followed by 4) the closing act. Another Mighty Met feel free to correct me. Thanks and blessings to all those facing addictions of all kinds.
Hi my favorite therapist in the world. Great track. So I was wondering for my 9th sober birthday coming up on June 28th could u please react to Fear Factory the son Fear Campaign. I think it’s a great one. We all have Fear in our lives. So thanks for the great channel.
