Was this a bad decision for Linkin Park?

It’s a bad decision for you to react to falling in reverse. The singer Ronnie is a convicted murder and rapist

My hang-ups were her connection to scientology and then what I heard about her in relation to masterson. She cleared up the masterson part, and I’ve heard that she was born into the cult, which means even if she’s left it, saying anything about them could be disastrous for her in many aspects. I listened to her sing, I was happy to hear her voice and how well she could hit the same notes Chester did. And yeah, she doesn’t have the connection to the lyrics that he did, so the emotion is different. I look forward to what they do next.

I also didn’t know there were more than 2 camps. The basic arguments I heard were either along the lines of what I said above, or boiled down to “Oh no, Linkin Park went woke, Chester’s a girl now”

I still remember the complaints about how they “changed” when Mintues to Midnight came out. Yeah it’s called growing up, and the band went through a traumatic event, and now they’re back.

The final words on this video touched me. Thank you so much. The fanbase needs a lot of healing. I am sooo happy to See them again. And happy too.

Chester Bennington ≠ Linkin Park. All bands are a group of friends, they started in 1996, Chester didn’t join until 1999. Every band has members come and go. The band members are allowed to hang out and create new music.
AC/DC continued with Brian Johnson and had more success after Bon Scott died in 1977.
Metallica had an unhealthy relationship with Jason Newsted and Cliff Burton died in 1986, and eventually got Robert Trujillo to join in 2003.

It’s business. If an employee of an organization pass away, the organization is allowed to bring in a new employee to do the same job. No one should fault the organization for that.

First of all feelings doesn’t mean anything when there is truth. Truth is, the singer struggles. She is for damn sure forcing her voice and going to mess up her vocal cords. And you already addressed the emotion lacking when singing. Second, there is no band. You are missing Rib, Brian, Phoenix and Chester. 4 members replaced. It should have just been a new band. It’s not like AC/DC or Journey where it’s just the singer. Those of us who are disappointed expected more. We expected someone of at least the vocal caliber of Chester and can hang and have that gravitas. Someone of rap and hip hop background and influence but also rock influences. And let’s not forget the massive low blow they gave Chesters family for not letting them know moves were happening.
I’m not hating or mad just disappointed.

“the more time passes from our trauma, the less permission we feel we can speak about it.” Damn

Shes a terrible pick. What shes did to victims of S.A. because shes a scientologist. Shes awful. A slap in the face to Chester.

Think about THIS. When STP lost their singer who replaced him? CHESTER. He said their message was important and needed to still reach people. Chester would have wanted his band to also continue. An overwhelming percentage of people like Emily. It’s just that the haters are louder.

Before i listen to your vid. LP was always a great band for us growing up, it helped so many of us.
Love Chester. Many of us cried. I listen to LP almost every day on my list. No one is going to replace Chester. And nor LP or Emily are trying to replace him nor errase his memory. They are honoring his memory.
On a road there are two ways to get there: the long way and the longer way. (7 years longer).some people people dont like it but the jurney and the scinery will give you so much joy and great experiences.
If you get.the flow of the river you’ll understand how to enjoy it.
Emily is great for LP. Dont like her then dont listen to LP. Stop the hate for her. Yes she might have a controvertial history and people hate on her, have we not made mistakes in the past?

Linkin park is back. And she is great for LP.

Life goes on… i wish her gool luck and if the lyrics are complementary to the music they it will be ok.
Chester was a decent person and he wouldn’t be so selfish that the band cannot still live without him

The synergy of the band is the most important thing. She will grow in her roll. She brings her own strength and weakness to the group. People need to watch the interview with her and the band.

I respect their decision, but there is missing emotion in her vocals and I just feel like she can’t do the old songs justice. Make new music by all means and I wish them the best, but stay away from the songs Chester did

Imo, i have mixed feelings about this, Emily lacks the emotion Chester had, when you heard a linkin park song you felt emotional from the very first note of the song and she lacks it, however, she is a good singer and screamer and I think she really wants to honor Chester not dishonor him, once she gets more emotional with her songs I might start listening again

I’m really digging the background music at 7:23. I found it both fitting and interesting, I couldn’t find it anywhere though.

I dont have a problem with her singing if im being honest my problem is in the fact she is a Scientologist and that she is appart of an organisation that doesn’t believe victims that blames victims and her half assed apologie i was pretty excited to gear the new stuff till i found out about that her belonging to that organisation in my opinion is really disrespectful i personally think its great for them to continue as a band its just the rest of it i dont like

People acting like The band didn’t exist before Chester entered

Don’t forget, Chester replaced another dead front man. So I’m pretty sure he understands and would be ok with someone replacing him.
