I’m so sorry to hear about your mom. That must be so difficult to deal with. Seeing someone you love deal with a terminal illness can leave you feeling scared about the future without them and angry about the situation. It can also seem unfair and leave us feeling hopeless. It can also bring us closer together as we support and love each other as best as we can and appreciate every moment we have here together. I pray that you find strength, courage and hope as you navigate this difficult time. Lean on those around you and take care of yourself as well. We are here for you if you need to open up and need support. You are loved and you are not alone.

Hey friend- I am so sorry to hear of your mom’s condition. I cannot imagine the pain that that diagnosis must bring about and how gut-wrenching life must currently feel knowing that your mother is struggling. Watching the one who raised us, brought us up, and loves us unconditionally suffer and deteriorate goes completely against our vision of a strong, infallible mother who will always be there to protect us, and that reminder of everyone’s mortality is crushing.

I hope and pray that as you walk out this diagnosis and remaining time with your mother you are able to reflect on the multitude of highlights in your relationship with her and cherish making more of those memories with the time that you do have left. Show your love for each other and let your feelings be known while she is still here. Though the weight of her diagnosis still hangs so heavy, there is some solace in the fact that you get this opportunity to spend time with her before she passes, and she was not taken away suddenly.’

Your pain is real and my heart goes out to yours. Continue to reach out like you are doing here. Continue to talk about your feelings and continue to find community that can grieve with you. You are so loved and your feelings throughout this process matter too. We at HeartSupport are here for you if you would like to talk more or if you just need someone to listen to. You matter so much and I pray that you have some form of solace and peace of mind while walking out this remaining time with your mother. God bless you.
