I am a alcoholic and I have depression and anxiety I tried to kill my self because I didn’t want to live anymore but I didn’t do it
I’m really glad to know that you decided to stay alive, that’s so brave when you are drowned in so much darkness. Living with depression and anxiety it’s such a hell, and we think that it’s better if we are not here anymore, but that is not true. We are here for a reason, even if it’s hard to see it, but of we manage to see that little spark that keeps us going, we should follow it.
And having those, while battling alcoholism it makes it twice harder. Have you considered in seeking out a professional? It might really help you
I wish you all the best, and hope that you will find that spark in your life.
Glad you’re still here, friend.
Hard to tell if you’re looking for advice, but the first step toward any element of recovery/progress is identifying the issue(s).
As a former alcoholic who struggles with anxiety/depression- I can confirm that alcohol is an incredibly effective way of dealing with both depression and anxiety- unfortunately its effects are only temporary, and where it might be an effective bandage, the underlying wound goes untreated and progressively becomes more and more infected.
The problem may exist less with the alcohol and more-so the depression and anxiety.
It might help to make a list of both attainable daily goals and long term dreams/hopes so you can plot a course for recovery/accomplishment.
Hold yourself accountable, accomplish the things you and the people who love you want to see you achieve, and I’d bet you’d find you’re a lot less motivated to drink. You just have to prove to yourself there are things in this life that are better than feeling sick/hungover- shouldn’t be that hard to find things that are more pleasant than a hangover.
Godspeed, I’m rooting for you.
Happy that you’re still here! There are so many resources out there to help when you’re feeling this way. Don’t be ashamed or discouraged from reaching out. As someone who has battled crippling anxiety and depression their whole life I can promise it can get better. You’d be amazed at how many people battle this very thing and you would never know! Talk to someone and if you don’t think you can, remember you can always text 988 anytime and talk to someone that way. You are loved and you matter!!
