I do have an addiction to coke. I’ve been doing it for almost 20 years. Functional addict. I’m so depressed, anxiety issues. Pffff
Thank you for sharing a bit of your story with us. I’m truly sorry to hear about all that you are dealing with at once when it comes to your physical and mental health. Depression, anxiety, and addiction are all difficult beasts to manage on their own, so I can imagine the weight of having to maneuver them all at once. It is possible that they each are connected and feed into each other making it even harder to overcome.
I know this might not be how you feel at the moment, but I do want so point out your strength for your continued fight. Dealing with an addiction for basically 20 years is not an easy thing to do, at all. There are many people where addiction to coke has overtaken their lives. However, you have found a way to stay a float. I hope that you are able to find support systems that can help you to navigate through all the different things that you are dealing with right now because it is definitely not easy to have to do alone.
I wish you the best on your journey and I hope that things will start to turn around for you one day
Hi Friend, It certainly sounds like you have been through a lot in your life, dealing with a cocaine habit for 20 years is bound to have had a huge effect on you and your phyche, I am supposing you have had ups and downs of quitting and returning to it? that takes it toll (that is tough, I am sorry) One thing I would like to say is though that just in case this is a problem, never be affraid to go back for help, I don’t know your story but I do know a little about an addiction and sometimes you can get help, it works and then you fall backwards and going to admit that you have messed up is bloody hard, I guess what I am trying to say is, there are never too many times to ask for help.
It must be incredibly hard to look back and think that 20 years have past like this but I am sure there is far more to you than that, you are made up of so much more than a body that takes cocaine and friend you deserve to find what those things are, if you can reach out for help with your depression, your gp should be able to assist with that, you should be able to see the wood for the trees and realise just how much more to you there is and just how amazing you really are. I want that for you. I would love for you to stay in touch. Lisa. x
