I’m a veteran, denied by the VA and society, I’ve been homeless, still I’m one paycheck away from being homeless again. Everyone in my unit got distributed throughout the world. I don’t have 1 battle buddy I served with left.
I hope you don’t mind, but I would like to start by thanking you for your service. We have a lot of work to do in this country to take better care of our veterans. There are many, many of us that are one paycheck from homeless. Our economy is making it incredibly difficult to live any further out than paycheck to paycheck, and it’s scary. My dad was an Army vet, so this is very close to my heart. Not to mention that so of my closest friends are Marine vets. I cannot imagine what military life is like. But I know that the men and women that serve deserve our upmost respect and gratitude. I want to encourage you to seek support from other organizations unrelated to the VA. Oh my friend, getting denied by the VA and society has to be rough. I am in the same boat with you regarding my disability claim. I can’t even begin to imagine how it feels losing all you battle buddies. You found us here at Heart Support and we are here for you, I know it’s not the same, but we care about you.
