Losing stability is such a scary experience! Iāve been there as well friend, you arenāt alone. Thereās a lot of pressure to regain stability, and thatās important, but itās also important to take time to process and grieve what was lost. Everything you feel is good and normal. Anger, fear, sadness, all of it is welcome. Youāll find stability, but take care of yourself as you search!
Hi Dyllon,
Losing a job can be scary and hard to process in so many ways. You deserve to take some time to reflect and unwind from both the good and bad of your previous job. Iāve been there and want you to know that with time new opportunities will come your way.
Sending support,
Maggie
Hi @DyllonKG
I am sorry that this all happened and I can imagine the extra weight that it carries to not be sure of what is next. I hope you give yourself some time to breathe after the pressure that has been put on you in the past few months and allow yourself time to get back on your feet. When you are ready to cross the bridge to the next stepping stone of your life, it will be ready for you. Youāre not alone and we are here for you!

Hi there Dyllon,
Thank you so much for being so open and honest with us. It takes a ton of courage to be vulnerable, I see you. I see your strength. I see your struggle. Life can hand us some pretty tough cards for whatever reason. Life can beat us up and be so cruel. But I know that you have such a big heart, so much strength, and so much courage. You take the time to support others going through trying times. You deserve all the love that you give to others. We are here for you. HS loves you. Please feel free to reach out anytime. Stay strong friend.
Much love-Blake
Love you friend: Finding Stability in Times of Transition | Loom - this is a long one, and I effed up using the wrong mic - but hope this can be just a humble piece of encouragement for you. <3
Hey @DyllonKG thanks for the video and the context. Everything youāre feeling is completely valid! When you were talking about your nomadic life in the first part ā¦ it felt very familiar. My partner and I moved 20 times in 10 years across the US; the last five of those years with a baby. It was like a combo of trying to find freedom but never letting it get too close. So real!
Iām sorry about the job. I think the opportunity you have right now, is a freedom to do whatever. You could get any retail job right now. And a bit of tough love ā¦ donāt let your privilege starve you. If the immediate problem right now is you lost your job and you need money, maybe a retail job is where itās at for a bit while you look for a more permanent replacement. Set a goal āapply for x # of jobsā every week. Set an end date to the retail gig so you know itās not temporary. Write the resignation letter if you have to. These small actions tell your brain itās not permanent and may help.
Iām proud of you for coming here to share. Iām sure it was not easy. Keep us posted of your progress, if youāre up to it. Cheering for you!
ps ā¦ did you use to stream and maybe stay with a friend in PA? A lighthouse friend? You look very familiar. The plants ā¦ I dunno.
Hey hey.
Thanks for sharing your own experience a bit - it feels good to be seen in that way regarding the semi-nomadic lifestyle.
And youāre absolutely right about the retail jobs etc. Iāve started applying to those because I wonāt let my own ego keep my family and I from being safe. That would beā¦ridiculous to say the least. And luckily, iāve been able to line up some side gigs and video editing scenarios that will pay a decent amount.
In terms of streaming, I use to stream! And yep, i moved to PA to stay with a friend TheZeroHourHero for a while. Heās a big reason I was able to get back on my feet.
Awesome! ZHH is incredible! As are you. I have seen you rebuild before and Iām confident you will do it again. It was really quite inspiring watching you explain the situation because while you were talking about it, and obviously feeling it, you were also being objective and thoughtful in your planning. Like a sincere level-headedness about you. Iām not sure if thatās the right word, but letās go with that.
Those deadlines with retail jobs have helped me in the past, and sometimes that meant having to get a different retail gig because I didnāt find anything right away, but it didnāt let my brain āsettleā. Cheering you on! Keep us posted. I would love to celebrate your wins.
