My inner critic tells me that if I had been a better father and husband my son wouldn’t have died 4 months ago
I don’t think you are a bad father because I talked with multiple parents. There are worse parents that I have encounter. Most parents asked me on how they can discipline their child. I’m just a single person that helps students in school. I always ask parents “How often do you spend time or communicate with your children?” Parents will always come with an excuse to me that their child is bad. That’s not true on how the student discuss about their personal life to me. They loved and feel comfortable to talk me more than the parent.
Just remember you did the best you did as a father. Sometimes that the inner critic tell that I’m the worse person but it’s not true at all. Negative thoughts help us become a better person. Your son appreciated for being the best father!!! Don’t ever be blame your death for your son.
