My muscle memory is lighting up a smoke…so many attempts to quit and the same amount of failures. I know the quality of life will improve if I put that habbit behind me but I cling to it as if it’s the only thing keeping me from falling off a cliff!

I’m so sorry to hear of your struggle, friend. Muscle memory can definitely be as much of a curse as it is a blessing, it’s never easy to break a bad habit. I can’t even recall the amount of times I have tried to keep myself from doing something to no avail, I’m still even working on conquering some of these vices today.
If I was to try and give some advice, something that’s helped me overcome some of my vices (as dumb as it may sound) is distracting myself. Anytime I start feeling tempted, I try to redirect my attention somewhere else, whether it be a chore, hobby or even just going for a walk. I’d really recommend trying something like this if you haven’t!
I’ll be praying for strength and determination for you to overcome this friend!!

Hey! Thank you for reaching out, that’s not always an easy thing to do. I recognize your struggle with habit and addiction.
Addiction is such a hard thing that many face and struggle with. It seems as if we are stuck in a hole we can’t climb out of. With aspiration, and strength, we are able to overcome this situation, and reach for the light at the top.
Stay strong my friend, you will win this battle
