no addiction but feel like a lost cause
Feeling like you’re a lost cause is such a heavy burden to carry with you. It makes you feel stuck in this foggy maze where every turn leads you deeper into this sense of hopelessness that nothing seems to stop. You try to find your direction, you hope that the next turn will be the right one, but you keep facing dead ends, leaving you feeling heartbroken and disappointed. It’s hard to feel like no matter how much you try there’s just not enough help out there for you, for the struggles you face and for the pain you endure. It makes healing appear as just a distant dream, almost as if it was a privilege to others, but something that would never accessible to you.
When those thoughts take over, it’s like losing sight of any light at the end of the tunnel. You start to believe that you’re unworthy of happiness or success, and that belief starts to shape everything you do. It can make you withdraw from others, hesitant to reach out for help because you’re afraid of burdening them with your struggles.
I’m sorry friend that you’ve been feeling this way, although also so very proud for th efact that you did choose to talk about it here. These thoughts and doubts, this sense of hopelessness thrives in silence and the isolation it creates. But you are not alone in feeling this way, and I can assure you that the narrative telling you that you’d be a lost cause is a lie. I know it’s exhausting though because it feels like you’re fighting against yourself all the time, like you’re your own worst enemy. I feel this at my core and am fighting a similar battle alongside you. We can make it through though. We can prove to ourselves and to this world that we are not the sum of our struggles. One step at a time.
