Relatable. And tragic. It is the prison, the cycle, the entrapment that feels impossible to escape - in a weird way, undesirable to escape, but suffocating and destructive - and yet comforting - almost like a necessary poison we hate to love and can’t seem to shake. It’s awful. It feels like a demon that is so enmeshed with who we are we look at it and see ourselves. It is a battle we lose more often we want to admit but most days we don’t even bring our sword to the fight. It is what we despise most in ourselves and the corner we send ourselves to when we assign ourselves Shame. It is a long way in, and we want a short way out. It is chaos, and we find ourselves trying to duct tape our lives together. But we can’t find a way out, because it is brokenness within us that follows us wherever we go.
