love singing staind songs at the top of my lungs in the shower
I played this song on repeat when it came out. Love this era of stained… then they went county and I don’t listen to them anymore…the new sound didn’t hit for me. Loved this❤
“And I lie here in bed, all alone, I can’t mend…” This song was the story of my divorce, where many things about both my ex and my mother suddenly made sense to me. Barely survived all that, now I find I don’t really care anymore. Found out ex died (by accident) recently and felt barely a twinge. After his betrayals almost killed me. Funny how time changes things.
Has this channel just been getting shown to me because June is Mens Mental Health month? Or is it the universe giving me a sign?
Taylor talks about this song is an epiphany, maybe she should listen to “Epiphany”.
Omg please react to Staind Something to Remind you live from Mohegan Sun!!!
Epiphany would be a good other Staind song to look at
“for you” is a heavy one.
Looks like somebody got a little too much sun!
But seriously; there’s a another detail to notice in the video:
After the guy climbed the wall and jumped down, he THOUGHT that he was on the OTHER side of the wall. He falls such a dramatically far distance to the ground and then looks around, only to find himself STILL “on the outside”.
He was so desperate to get back with his girlfriend at first, but once he was able to get that “on the outside looking in” perspective (as the symbolism here shows), he realizes that the desire to get back together with her is like trying to UNLEARN his newly acquired understanding of her.
REALITY sets in as he grasps the fact that she ISN’T “special” and “above” him; HER flaws and “ugliness” place her on EQUAL standing to him and there’s no going back to “the way things were” when he had convinced himself otherwise.
The wall therefore symbolizes the one-way barrier between ignorance and knowledge; once you’ve LEARNED some irrefutable fact, REGARDLESS of how it makes you feel about reality as a whole, or merely your personal circumstances, you can never “go back” through that barrier, to “reacquire” the state of NOT knowing.
i’ve been listening to this since it came out, it hits every time
please do The Red, by Chevelle. It’s perfect for the channel!
If you think they’re all sad songs check out their song Mudshovel.
I also recommend Happy, Death Blooms and Scream with Me by Mudvayne.
Or check out Maggie’s song, Fire Away,Tennessee Whiskey or Starting over by Chris Stapleton
The Plot in you - Feel nothing.
Hits very hard and will hit home with a lot of people.
As an ex-cult member, the part that resonates with me is the line, “I’m on the outside looking in.”
“Everything Changes” is one of their best (my opinion), yet definitely underrated songs. It was released as a single but didn’t garner nearly the kind of attention their other songs have. It’s a very nostalgic, emotional and heart-tugging song.
You should listen to Aaron Lewis lost and lonely he wrote it while in rehab
Seether - fine again, hits home for me and I’m sure for majority of people
Staind -so far away…
Put sunscreen on that burn…trust me. It will cool it instantly, makes the red go away quicker, and keeps the sun from hurting, until healed, if you get in its rays again.
Would really like to see you dig more into the linkin park one more light album I feel like there’s a lot in there to cover mental health wise
