This was a great song and album
you might want to look in to the artist that inspired this music video. A surrealist Photographer named Joel-Peter Witkin.
You can’t relate to the sexual part because you are not a guy.
It’s amazing that you can see all of this by listening to this on the first try. I was the kid in English class reading a passage and still having no clue except the literal words that I read……
The Downward Spiral is a 100% sit and listen to the whole album. End to end.You get the entire arc and, sadly, it doesn’t end hopefully, but it’s a look into pain and angst
This is the most grown-up reaction to this song I’ve seen. You understand that, yes, it is a very sexual song (that is hot), but it’s more than that! It’s about depression and a need for escape. Thank you! People just get shocked and stay there at the surface level when they hear it. MIND you I was 13 when this song came out and I LOVED IT!
I like the fact that this song was No 1 in Australia but except for JJJ it got no airplays whatsoever
These poor children think they know
it’s like a Sushi Glory Hole, hear me out,… hear me out… hear me out…
was the Song a marketing thing to promote the Movie “Seven”?, maybe not first time, but close to that, that Movie and Music industry come togehter to push each other and have a viral, “backdoor”-crossover
If you like to psychoanalyze songs, how about Queensryche’s “Road to Madness”? I always felt that song had deep emotions all with creative lyrics.
Thank you for the interpretation and the explaination that when someone yells/attacks/vugar, they may be reaching out for help due to pain. A creative display by NIN to put this into a song/video…all while having a cool beat to it as well.
the dr.Evil clip had me coughing juice thru my nose, thanks for that a** hole
yeah you definitely hit the nail on the head
hold on ? you have a butterfly/moth tattoo and a black/white checkered floor? WHO ARE YOU LADY?
Wow that’s what I was doing between 2000 and 2007😂 it helped😂
the heart beating part at the start is even funnier when you see the behind the scenes. Theres all just 2 asian dudes behind a piece of wood one with a little hand pump that makes it beat and another that blows in a tube that makes the smoke stuff come out. Its so funny seeing them there all just straight faced doin it
Probly not familiar with the underground happiness in slavery video…
Yeah… there is trauma victim excercise that is done where you close your eyes and you have to imagine this kid version of you (3-6)… and you are the only one that can nurture and help it…
Sounds dumb/silly… I said “No” after 30 seconds of it… and was almost in tears…
Do Pantera- Shedding skin!
