Therapist reacts to Heavy is the Crown by Linkin Park

Love this one. Maybe not as much as the Emptiness Machine for me… but very close call. Love and miss Chester but I just can’t help to feel like I need to move forward with Linkin Park. I can’t tell you how many seconds, minutes, hours, days I have listened to Linkin Park over and over and over. Now I get to do it all over again. No one will replace Chester for me, but I don’t view Emily as a replacement → she is a vibe that is allowing my music therapy to keep going and giving me that extra mojo to go everyday! There is no denying at this point - she got a great voice for this band.

As for HeartSupport, absolutely love your work. I kinda work in the field… just as a certified peer, but Music therapy - Especially, letting go and singing to your favorite kind of music, aka Linkin Park, Alt Metal , is one of my favorite skills I share with my participants! I find myself now actually analyzing or paying so much more attention to the lyrics than I ever did. Love the breakdowns. Keep em coming ~ :revolving_hearts::guitar::musical_note:

haha my recommendation came through instantly ^-^, even though the song is not thaaat deep, just a great song

Longtime subscriber first time request. I’m a 56-year-old man who’s been through the hell called life. just wanna request a song by the band Destruction the song is State of Apathy, please! you do a lot of the new bands. be kind of nice if you did an older band. Thanks!

Something to think about her one breath it starts when she says ’ this is what you ask for an then the scream it’s all one breath.

Please do In flames - Come Clarity. I think you would really enjoy it!

The emptyness machine was to make it clear that she couldn’t replace chester, this song was to prove that they are still linkin park

actually the scream is kind of a trickery move. Most people don’t recognize (me too, at first), that Chesters Scream start with a breath direct in to the scream. “f***ing My - ser [breath] ryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy” with the ryyyyy part going about 17 seconds for this 16bars scream. Emily screaming “fooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooor” lasts around 16 seconds and also 16 bars. but her last breath was BEFORE starting “This is what you ask…” So you could add 2 to 3 seconds (3 count pick-up / anacrusis ) to that one breath vocal line, which actually makes her surpassing Chesters 1 breath 16 bars by 3 counts and those 2-3 seconds but people won’t really notice because they concentrate on the pure scream. And by this trickery, the backlash for picking up chesters heavy crown is smaller… smart move, and impressing vocals.
There is an official release of a live version of this song on YT, with the scream being 3 seconds short but still impressive and nice body language. Maybe you would consider reacting to that live version, too.

Please help me @HeartSupport

Please help me i hate my life what can i do and help others there are somaby im trying to help yet i need so much help myself honestly.???

What I think Linkin Park are doing soo well, always have been doing so damn well, is the way they make their songs feel personal, but still general enough for everyone to feel like it fits to them.
This song fits LP’s narrative, but if you take this MV for example, in it we follow Faker and his League of Legends team who won last years world championship. So the song fits very well to what him and his team probably feel like returning for this years championship. It’s a lot of pressure to come back as the former champions, all eyes on you, you have to perform as well as last year, better if you can… Yeah, the crown can feel heavy at those moments.

Great video!

I am so with you. I crie again and again with this song. This old linkin Park style with her very great voice. She is different, and that is good. She stepps in BIG shoes and I like it. Heavy is the crown is a great line that comes in more songs than I thoght before. Your interpretation that the crown also stands for burdans helped me a bit. To be empathic is a gift and a curse enwined together and I struggle, again, to find my place in life, for beeing to emotional, to much, to heavy and at the same time, carry often the burdans of the pain from many other loved ones.
Its a song with fighting fire but also the sadness of the burdan, that comes with it. Many songs that were made for LoL are in such a style and I never would play the game but I like this messages in the songs.

I have been takig care of my autistic little brother and my dad shot himself so ive been doing this all myself and got laid off and cant afford anything so i am so lost! Please help! I just need love and supportive comments i dont want money at all i just need a reason to keep going forward!

This isn’t Linkin Park :frowning:

Day 42: Please give One Ok Rock a chance. I k ow you will love it. The song Renegade is a start

yippeee (spread the yippee and tell someone you hope they have a great day and give a compliment to people if you genuinely think what youre saying is true, it makes all the difference :D)

also just wanna put this here cause I don’t know if anyone said it but the game league of legends is really complicated and its community is iconically toxic. With that said, Riot games (the games creator) has made an amazing story and universe, and also promote it with a PLETHORA of music in any style/genre you can imagine. There is not much I can think of therapy-wise that could be super intriguing about them (with that said I’d still watch a reaction to them and probably rewatch it cause that’s what I do cause im weird) but I really do recommend them even if its just for you to listen to on your own. As well as Riot’s other game Valorant. Not nearly as many songs but still some amazing ones. I will make a little list of some of my favorites and the links to them and my personal rating of how interesting they could be from a therapy sense, just for some fun hehe. I love your content, have a wonderful day/night.

Rise https://youtu.be/fB8TyLTD7EE?si=J_cFXofEywJm6hID I’d give this one a good 7/10 on the therapy scale, really inspiring. Great gym track. (For context as well the video follows the story of a player who won league of legends’ World Tournament)

Legends Never Die https://youtu.be/r6zIGXun57U?si=zE3lTHuxJaTBujNi Amazing song, and this title just got me crying about Chester. oh yeah. uhhhh 6/10 on the therapy scale for similar reasons to Rise

POP/STARS https://youtu.be/UOxkGD8qRB4?si=qBaDkS5YOJhE1QGx This song has no business going this hard. (for some context its a collection of artists playing as characters from league of legends as a kpop band) like a 2/10 for therapy but holy shit you gotta hear this if you haven’t before.

GIANTS https://youtu.be/sVZpHFXcFJw?si=VfRn_-rd9HLPXF5x A personal favorite of mine, a similar story to pop/stars but this one has different artists and some more hiphop inspired vibes, same rating as pop/stars

GODS https://youtu.be/C3GouGa0noM?si=MfyGUgpWLg_nn05f My Personal favorite league of legends song with one of my favorite artists, has similar context to RISE and amazing vibes id give it a 6/10 on the therapy scale

Ticking Away https://youtu.be/CdZN8PI3MqM?si=TgwqjWAQvfIGUpOh A fantastic song and another one that is super motivating and empowering 6/10 on the Therapy Scale

Visions https://youtu.be/XfuMEmcz3k0?si=vUX_xwlpmC3edMnY Super catchy and pretty, I cant even come up with a good rating for this one but its one of my favorites of the Valorant songs and one of my favorite songs period. (if someone else has a good rating please leave it under this comment :D)

Die for You https://youtu.be/h7MYJghRWt0?si=1Bth_Bb7RsaXzqqM The first Anthem of the Valorant songs and regarded from many as the best. I’d give it a good 5/10 on the Therapy Scale™

I am so sure I’m forgetting some and id love for someone to comment under with their opinions on my ratings and let me know of the ones i forgot and how YOU would rate them <3

Emily sings four words and then screams for 16 seconds all in the same breath, it’s not just the scream, it’s really impressive. Chester was amazing, his 17 seconds was all power but it was a stand alone scream, what Emily does here is on another level entirely.

“I loved playing Nancy Drew” took me out :joy::skull:
