Thank you, Taylor! Watched a whole bunch of your reactions to Slipknot last night. A part of me that used to be that kid listening to metal because it felt like only that really helped and was the medium of my inner turmoil and suffering wept to the fact that someone like yourself gets it, really gets it.
Different music is certainly therapeutic in different ways, but metal has a cathartic energy to it (IMHO), and it just feels so damn good to see you get it, relate to it, interpret it.
When i was younger, there were plenty of people around who didn’t understand my love for metal music. Every time i see someone who relates, it hits home and feels like connectedness. And that’s an awesome feeling.

Great analysis. Some others that delve into Tati’s mental health struggles are Perennial (live at Wacken is most impressive but the omv is beautiful and meaningful), Pit of Consciousness (live in Kiev now Kyiv is most impressive but the omv is superb - the song is fairly reflective of what she talks about in an interview in Psychology Today that comes up readily on Google but is based on a poem she wrote as a teenager and it sounds like things mellowed a bit in between) and practically the whole allbum Wallflowers but I’d suggest especially Vortex for great video. I’m pretty sure you’ll like other Jinjer’s songs 'cause many of them are dealing with some psychological issues, struggles and suffering.
Tatiana (the singer) is a main lyricist of the band. She’s a Pisces (as well as bassist who helped to finish the lyrics to this song).
Most of “psychological” Jinjer’s songs Tatiana creates out of her personal experience. It means she describes her personal issues in most cases in her lyrics.
Just a brief list which came to my mind right away:
- Wallflower (OMV) - a bit of duality but mostly it’s a song from the persperctive of introvert.
- Perennial (live at Wacken) - a poem about seasonal depression.
- Pit of Consciousness (Live in Kiev or OMV) - about something like dissociative identity disorder
- Vortex (OMV or live at Hellfest) - about intrusive heavy thoughts which tend to self destruction
- On The Top (live in Kiev) - about loneliness of those who run to the top of success
- Retrospection (OMV or live in Melbourne) - about nostalgia and missing the father’s house
- Pearl and Swine (studio recording) - about suffering of those who open their souls to ingratitude people
Well, pretty much every second song comes to my mind could be added to this list 
Especially from the later albums.

And all of this combined with extremely high level of musical quality (both composing and performing) and extraordinary skills of their front person/singer.

in beautiful singing, clear, clean, angelic voice and then rough, screaming and clear, clean extremely deep growls for a woman singing grandmaster Tatjana Shmayluk!!! Would you like to see more of this extraordinary band from Ukraine, I saw it live for the first time in 2012 and this woman left me completely speechless with her wild hair but there was already 200% power and the accelerator pedal was completely pressed to the floor for the whole concert through! Then I have sorted their songs in official music videos and also live concerts and festival recordings of their songs here according to development years! If you have both versions you can see and hear how perfectly good the entire band is, whether in the studio, on the album or live on stage… They are incredibly good, talented and creative musicians who go from what was once metalcore to what is now their own heavy metal genre Style that only Jinjer mixes like this from various directions!
