Most people like to disregard the albums these songs are on but there is a lot to dissect on “Outlaw Torn”, “Bleeding Me”, “Hero Of The Day”, “Mama Said”, “Fixxer”, and “Low Man’s Lyric”. Some of the best writing Metallica/James Hetfield has ever done is on those songs.

I absolutely love your take on this song. It’s so not what I took from it in high school. (Ex girlfriend) for example. Have you tried “One” yet?
I cry every time I hear this song.
There’s not much to say about this song. It’s just a beautiful masterpiece and it will live forever.
This is a song about a girlfriend at the time and how much James loved her. Its really not deeper than that. Music is only subjective to a point.

I actually got this tattooed on my arm when I was sixteen, that was years ago, I felt that way then. Music has saved my life so many times when I was down it brought me back up. Save me from killing myself

The singer James Hetfield went to therapy after this album. It had a lot to do with his addiction to alcohol, that was destroying his marriage, among other things.

The multitude of awesome covers of this song out there, especially orchestral and acapella choir versions give me chills every time. I don’t know what it is, but this song just reaches inside me and stirs emotions in ways I cannot begin to describe.
