Therapist Reacts to The Patient by TOOL

Considering you, by your own admission seem to be at least relatively new to Tool Fandom, your grasp of what’s happening in each song is nothing short of incredible. Not only lyrically, but through the intricacies of the music as well. Keep up the good work, home fry. These videos do more for people like myself than I could ever adequately express :metal:

This song helped get me through an intense addiction. It was the worst part of my life. "Keep reminding myself of this moment,* is the key line that i think about everyday. The pain of withdrawals, and the irratic mental state I was in was awful. I was at a point that i was trying to figure out a way to hide from myself. I always remind myself of that moment. Most of Tool helped, but this song in particular, has helped keep me sober for 11 years.

Thanks . Could you do this for bluegrass band nickle creek

First and foremost great video. Critiqueing: I really dont believe this song is directly referencing or surrounds the subject of Maynards mom. In a broad sense though, I certainly agree it discusses some deep emotional pain and the struggle between continuing or giving up… its “The patients delimna” and it requires patience. Yes the double entendres are awesome.

Your shelf is Patient…

I always saw this as Him giving blood for his mom and being patient for his patient aka his mother. I watched the whole video hoping you would see it from that perspective :pensive:
