They say land of the free, its never been free, its been paid for and heavily. 1 minute youre in the thick of it, then in a few days be having drinks with friends and you feel so different youre no longer the same and when the forces let you go, you become neither anymore, dont belong anywhere and its tough as a vet who suffered/suffers ptsd as thats not curable you just either learn to dance with it or get hit over and over by it, that song really hits hard
@HeartSupport - Music to Improve Your Mindset: Given what your channel is, I am going to request a band and song that has saved my life:
Jee Veerey by Bloodywood.
Though I am a veteran, my depression is not service-related. I have, however, in the past fought with and battled my own internal demons. At times, I will be honest – they have almost beaten me. I say “almost” because I am still here, still able to write this.
But there have been times where I was at a dark point, and…thinking. (IYKYK. Blame YouTube for not being able to say what I want to say. Properly.)
2018 was one such year. Very dark emotionally. And one day, the algorithm randomly put on Jee Veerey by Bloodywood, and the dam I had built mentally, to hold everything back, just…broke. Listening to a song that told me to keep fighting, to not give up, gave me the internal mental strength to keep going. Quite literally, a folk metal band from New Delhi, India, that sings in Hindi and raps in English, saved my life.
Afterwards, typing comments on the original video and helping others made me realize: Whether battle-hardened soldier or a young kid dealing with life’s stressors, we all can use the same things: An empathetic ear. Someone who lets us vent. Someone who encourages us. Someone who has our back in the dark, someone to tell us that the storm will eventually pass. Someone to tell us to keep fighting to live, even when it seems as if all hope is lost and gone.
I use music and lyrics (and even movie scenes) to help others – and in doing so, keep my own demons in my head at bay. Thus, I recommend Jee Veerey by Bloodywood, as a song to check out. Because “jee veerey” means “brave one,” and anyone struggling daily and winning is the bravest type of person I know.
Wow. Thank you for this…
They taught us how to fight, but not how to come back home! Semper Fidelis
You’re never the same and very few will never understand. #tilvalhalla #21aday
Greatful to have seen FFDP live in Iraq. For a band to volunteer themselves to go into an active war zone says it all for how true they are to their message of supporting the troops.
It is not just Veterans, it is everyone too.
isolating is an understatement. been alone for 19 years now. ask to see a therapist at the va they throw you drugs, not help. they just wanna make numbers. 19 years one bout with cancer and looking at my second. and alone. it doesnt change. i hope people like you can change this but i dont think it will change. thank you for doing this.
My grandfather served in the Korean battles, and his sons and family mur der him. So thank you in his honor. Namaste

War is a MF’er…
Astute observations and genuinely thoughtful reaction…God bless homeless veterans.
I appreciate this lady watching & giving her opinions wish more would be veteran friendly or aware
Every time I’m thanked for my service, I ask the following question. And now I’m asking everyone here. What freedom did you use today that you are most thankful for AND you DON’T take for granted?
I’ll add my answer in 2 days (in honor of the 22 club)
I’ve found that more people pat themselves on their backs versus looking for ways to help us. I’m a decorated Gulf Veteran living in my chevy Suburban. Due to the recent weather mice have infiltrated the truck and are eating my food. Any Politicians willing to endure this BS??!!!
You should have been around after Vietnam . This is a depiction of the modern era and its very accurate but , the failed Vietnam conflict as they like to call it was 1 of the worst times for our military . Returning home called baby killers spat on by civilians waiting and protesting at air ports simply terriable. This current gonverment and all those before it have failed every vet in every way as well as the free people of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
I was doing my home work, and i always thought about mental health in this case, ant that`s it, most of the veterans have this problem, i search how much isa compensatior for serve your contry who is not a mandatory like her in Brazil, and it is a our coin about $46,972 about U$8.64, in my humble opinion it is a good money, here the 18 yo boys have to do the military mandatory, and the veteran here ear a shame of 1.288,21 a month. So, it is a mental health.
If you were not drafted the only thing I can say is MAN UP.
The woman and girl who tried to give him flowers…THAT WAS HIS DAUGHTER!!! And she has NO CLUE that she’s his dad… The woman did though…
I’m not a combat veteran but I’m a veteran that’s for sure if it wasn’t for being in the Guard I know things would be different and not in a good way
