Thanks for your reaction and diving into Pink Floyd. I was fortunate to have seen them live in their final tour in May of 1994. They were one of the most ethereal sounding bands that I have heard in my lifetime. I can assure you that all 65,800 people there were mezmerized as I was throughout the entire concert. Syd Barrett, the original frontman, lead guitarist, and singer for Pink Floyd began to behave more and more erratically as his LSD use made his preexisting mental health issues much worse. David Gilmour, who was a friend of the band, was added to play guitar and sing when Syd couldn’t. As Syd would lose focus during practices, recording sessions, and performances, occasionally becoming catatonic and slumping down to stare at nothing, David had to be ready to step into the frontman role at any moment.
Eventually Syd got so bad he just wasn’t there anymore and the band had to go on without him. He basically lived under his mother’s care afterward as he was just so gone.
Saddest part of the story was that when the band was recording this album, one day this guy wandered into the studio control booth and basically just stood in a corner watching. He was overweight, short haired, pasty, and no one paid him much attention as he never spoke, stayed out of the way in his corner and left after a while. The band was wrecked when they realized that this had been Syd and no one had recognized him because he looked so different.

this song is one of my favorit, but another song fighting to be my favorit is “the turning away” by Pink Floyd, i hope to see you react to that song in the futuer its a real nice meaning behind it and sounds amazing <3 
I just don’t understand why everybody listening Gilmour’s concerts when it comes to Pink Floyd… Waters was the soul and spirit of this group, let’s people (Gilmour) say anything… for example, I do not like the late interpretations of Comfortably Numb by Gilmour, cause it’s all the time too much… only a posturer, a sensationalist… I appreciate much better Waters’ interpretations of the original songs…

I lost my best friend in 2019 to complications from Pneumonia and I still haven’t gotten over it. We were only in our twenties. I miss him so much. I wish we could have a road trip again and watch a bad movie while smoking cigars and making our own riff tracks. I just wish I could see him again. It hurts that I was out of state at the time. He messaged me asking me when I would come back all the time. I feel like it’s my fault that he didn’t have me there to help him try to find help and treatment. Like If I would’ve been there, maybe I could’ve gotten him to see a doctor or at least to spend as much time with him as I could.
You should most definitely watch the entire pulse performance, the most amazing concert ever. Legendary.
