This song always hit hard, it made me think of my dad who passed at 65 years old. Now it hits even harder, I lost my son in May of this year.
I would like to start off by offering my condolences for your losses. What you’ve experienced is not easy and you may be overcome with emotions. That is okay. There is no handbook on how to grieve. If you need to scream one day and laugh wildly the next, that’s okay. What’s important right now is allowing yourself the space to heal in whatever manner works for you.

Thank you for sharing. I am so very sorry for your loss. No parent should have to experience the loss of their child. It is such a deep pain. I can only imagine what you are going through, but I know that it is a lot. There are so many different emotions and feelings that come with grief. And I want to let you know that everyone grieves differently. Everyone has their own way/process of processing their loss.
Reading the lyrics to this song, I can see why it resonates with you. It is a good thing if it helps you work through your feelings, or let them out. You are okay to take as much time as you need, to move at your own pace. Be patient, and passionate with yourself while you do.
Death is such a normal part of life, but no one is ever ready for losing the one’s they love. We always wish there could have been more time, more chances to create memories. I hope you are able to hold your dad and your son close to your heart and keep them alive in your memories. To carry their essence and who they were as people and what they meant to you through each day. I wish you strength during this time as you navigate this major life adjustment and that you are supported during and throughout your time of grief.
