You definitely know about addiction even if you’ve never been addicted. August 1st was two years off of meth for me. I’m a Disabled Veteran with four cancers since 2008. My Wife was a bi-polar/schizophrenic who talked to the mirrors fourteen hours a day until she died on the streets of San Bernardino 9/9/20. I had put out a missing persons report on her the day before; I was told by the San Bernardino County Sheriff/Apple Valley Police officer to “call if she shows up.” The next day, she died of sepsis and alcohol poisoning with a BAC of 0.5. I did not receive any notice until a week and a day later from the SBCSD morgue, by mail. Until three months ago, I had written the CA Attorney General’s office about stalking and harassment by the SBCSD every single day, sometimes three or four times; they had a surveillance van outside my wall for eleven months; helicopters and aircraft constantly flew loudly over my house until the CA AG put an end to that pretty much. This county sheriff is the only police agency I’ve really ever had a deep hatred about. They used my Wife’s corpse to torture me. Cheers (I think),

July 3rd was my 23rd year. I can’t relate much to dealing with someone with bipolar/schitzophrenia but I have lost so many people in the last several years. Life can be really rough as you know so we keep roughing it until we are called away from this life.

Welcome to HeartSupport - OMG - your post was incredibly heartbreaking. I guess you are at the right place then to get some heart support. I’m so glad you watched Taylor’s reaction video to Nutshell. What a simple song that says so much to so many people struggling with all kinds of things. I love Alice In Chains and their songs are just so cathartic on so many levels, sometimes you just want to rock out, sometimes get introspective, sometimes just hear some kick ass guitars and harmonies. Couple things to say: First, congratulations on being 2 years off meth. That’s huge. I wonder how your life has changed in the last 24 months, I can only imagine for the better.
Second, I am so sorry to hear about your wife losing her battle, and also your recent battles with cancer. You have not had things easy my friend, so again congratulations that you are still alive and kicking, and looking to improve yourself by kicking the addiction. None of those things are simple and you obviously are a warrior, thank you for your service by the way. Lastly, feel free to reach out to HeartSupport anytime. We are here to love and not judge and just show people that they are heard, that their lives matter, and that we all have music and each other in common. Nobody is perfect, nobody has it all figured out, and we do this thing called life together. Take care brother.
