Therapist and Vocalist react to One By Metallica

As it goes no man seeks conflict they merely prepare for it, they prepare for death not the enslavement of disability.

its based off a veteran…

They played this live at the Grammy, it too is on you tube, they were nominated but the award went to Jethro Tull for best heavy metal album of the year - “fixed” in my opinion.

Trapped in life, not my choice to be here. You choice me as your grain of sand, now I live with the burden of humanity on my shoulders…

Nobodys thinking sbout suicide exept u

Would love to see your conversation with someone that is already on YouTube and breaks down the historic value of this song :+1:

I was in my 20s when Matalica and The Big 4 came out.
These Bands Took Metal too the Top.
Listen too Slayer or Megadeth too get Deep into Real Metal.
You Don’t hear no more.

How have you not responded to the movie dancer in the dark? It’s literally music as a coping mechanism.

Theatrical metal bands like King Diamond, Alice Copper, etc were influential in Metallica music.

Seen this music video tons of times, only just now realizing how sinister it is for the Army officer saying “Johnny” wasn’t a product of his profession when he clearly is. That’s how he got like this in the first place.

Sorry brother - you will never be heavier than Metallica, nor more talented.

the music that was being made during the time this came out was a unique time in the world. Often entire albums would tell stories, Queensryche or Pink Floyd would tell entire stories over the album and it was important to listen to all the songs in order to get the story. Guns n’ Roses You could be Mine, Megadeath’s Symphony of destruction or Pantera’s Walk just to name a few that where very popular in this time frame… If you decide to react to more Metallica Listen to Master of Puppets

This was Metallica’s very first video for MTV. I was already a true Metallicat!! From jamming to there previous albums and I knew right away when I got this album back in 1988, that this was going blow people away because it’s so powerful. Yes it’s very heavy HEAVY metal but there are notes involved in the music…Harmonizing guitars and you have to love Lars’s chops on drums!!! I know this song is not for everyone but if you actually watch the movie “Johnny got his gun”, you will definitely see and hear this vid with a different perspective. I loved it when I was 18 in the military and I’m 55 now and I still consider this one of the best heavy metal jams and inspirational stories of my generation and I hope it has the same impact on the new generation!:metal::laughing:

Johnny got his gun movie

Real bright sit where ther guy is tripping out calling for his mother

@HeartSupport

So I had addressed you guys personally as you said we should and was ignored.
Worry not, I have grown accustomed to it.

Feeling hopeless

This reminds me of the years that I was abused by officers and nobody heard me.
They had labeled me as a nazi over a tattoo of gargoyles on my back. The lieutenant told others that I was cutting up kittens on the street and sacrificing them. He told others that I was in the KKK and I suffered great racism and was beaten and abused by inmates as well as officers. Inmates would chant for the officers to “kill that white boy” …
When I tell people how much racism I had suffered and survived people tell me that I cannot experience racism because of my skin complexion. Family thought that I was delusional and did not believe me. They even called me delusional and said I thought the entire world was out to get me.
Those that I thought were there to help me were only taking the side of the abusers. The officers that abused me for about a year had told the medical and mental health staff that the marks on myself were caused by my self harm behaviors. Those that were supposed to be there to help me were siding with the abusers.

Any help that I had received was ordered by the court and they worked with the court against me. The therapists were not listening to me but the false accusations of the officers and believing every word.
I wanted to go to therapy for the trauma and the doctor’s wanted to silence me and attempt to make me forget the abuse I had suffered. They wanted me to “take accountability for my behavior”, they wanted me to take credit for being abused.

I had so many difficult situations until now. I won every time saying “godbyeee” to the death tentation, but now it’s so strange - I can’t find something to wake up me from this dream, even this songs, these nice words from you. I hear you, but it’s too late and too deep. The only nice thing I see it’s just it can be worse. It sounds bad, doesn’t? Post trauma, traumatic stres, anxiety, frustration and things that I can’t handle from outside. Hope that dad will forgive me there, in the sky.

There’s no band that has ever done a video quite like this especially like this is back in 1988! I just can’t imagine this dude hasn’t really heard this song and know everything about it being in a metal band.

i dont like this version…i mean is more mature, meaningfull and everything but i do prefer starcraft version…is funnier.
