Therapist reacts to BLACK by PearlJam

Lay down your life
For the wounded survive
Heal and grow strong
It’s time to revive
The more you gave
The greater the pain
Torn and empty
Only shells remained
So give up the ghost
Pull out the knife
Let the dream go
Start your new life

Lay down your life
For the wounded survive
Heal and grow strong
It’s time to revive
The more you gave
The greater the pain
Torn and empty
Only shells remained
So give up the ghost
Pull out the knife
Let the dream go
Start your new life

Why so broken
Why so torn
With heartbreak the end
Why are we born
Why do we live
If nothing to gain
For if not by faith
All is in vain

Sister, I was a teenager in the 90’s and Eddie Vedder was 100% our heartthrob. The lyrics, the way he sings to that microphone, HIM! Whew! I’m 47 and still have a crush on Eddie Vedder!

The live version of this song never fails to make my eyes water a little.

So many emotions for me with that song in those early days of crushes and heart break! :broken_heart: I sat in my car screaming that song late in the night! Glorious days however! Absolutely Marvelous! It’s now my duty to guide ma Wee Lads to good lives!

Lost my girlfriend due to an accident… We were together for 10 years and she was pregnant… That was 6 years ago… Still think of her every single day… Hate being alone… I miss her… But no one can replace her… I can’t start a new relationship… And this song nails it… Exactly how I’m feeling… even after all those years… Thanx for reviewing this song…

to bad you are so young and missed the grunge movement in seattle. I was there in the early 1990s going to local bars and seeing pearl jam, sound garden, alice in chains, nirvana, mud honey etc… I lived it. it was great.

Why??..

One of My All time Favorite Songs, Its Been with Me through the Pain and The Pleasure Of Life… im On the Down Side Now But Im still Here

Thrice is my favorite band n are known as being dubbed lyrical geniuses, use biblical references and somewhat political thoughts, n of course fantastic Love songs. Love songs no matter the Genre, are historically and statistically some of the best songs ever written. Black is absolutely beautiful🙌

Despite the fact that the lyrics are perfect. It’s the way he sings it that gets me… you can hear his pain. Eddie is a legend

This is my favorite review of this song. Great job

No one’s favorite group is pearl jam

This was one of the better versions of this song. Great tune, amazing times.

As an early gen xer, when I say PJ/Nirvana and other early 90s music saved me, I’m not making that up.

Beautifully done …thank you

Listen to " Guaranteed" By Eddie

great video, my recommendation: Nothingman by Pearl Jam

We were lach key kids! We were left alone, but at the same time we felt alone!

the love that you felt for that person, you never wished them ill … blessing them true happiness when they find it is part of the respect and love for this person (but we have to let go) … I know someday, you’ll have a beautiful life
I know you’ll be a star in somebody else’s sky
But why, why, why can’t it be mine

life goes on
