Therapist analyzes the lyrics to Black by Pearl Jam to discuss the reality that after a huge loss, you have to allow things to go black. The blackness is an emptying of the relationship in your life. It’s a painful but important clearing process. When we clear, we create space for something new to come in.

Grunge music and Korn were my go to. They have helped me through things in life.

This is my #2 favorite song of all time but Aaron Lewis version (I bet I get crap for that haha) nothing against Eddie though. GREAT SONG!! #1 is Stone Sour - Bother

Eddie and Chris are magical together.

I have always loved this song thanks for the reaction. Id love to see you react to a perfect circle kindred

This specific performance is so soul crushing

Some of the heart of grunge music back in the day. One of my favorite era’s of music.

its me again NF hate myself you should react to it

Ive been waiting for you to see this one =)

Oooh no girl you’re gonna feel a special type of sad

Please do Jeremy from Pearl Jam

Just discovered your channel. Now I’m hooked! Good stuff! :+1:t2:

that’s pretty much my reaction every time i listen to this song

Just dropping an fyi, that Ren has called all YouTube reactors to react to his song “kojo breakdown” that he is dropping today as a show of solidarity as he deals with the frustration of losing his song “Sick boi” which I know you love

Alive, Black and Porch (all from this album) were the cornerstone of my guitar practice routine for many years. I could tell when I go to Black how “tapped in” I was, because when I was locked in, playing the solo would completely break me down to sobbing tears. Such an incredible melody and amazing lyrics. The way the piano and guitars work with his voice on the studio version is sublime. This live version has a beautiful energy all it’s own.

Powerful magic indeed.

I turned 13 in 1990 and I feel I was the perfect age for Grunge ^^

I’m sorry that you missed probably the greatest generation of music but you also missed the MTV experience

Gotta listen to Release and Just Breathe too!

This song, this album, Pearl Jam (among other bands) got me through the hyper-emotional pain of my teenage years. My dad once made me stop listening to this for a week or two because, “You need to listen to something that’s less grey and painful for a while.” But the grey and the pain in the music was what let me release the grey and the pain from my head.
