Therapist Reacts to Closer by Nine Inch Nails

If you like weird industrial music with heavily analyzable lyrics, please do Skinny Puppy. It’s… beautiful

This song is famous for the “I want to f*ck you like an animal” line, but that’s not the title. It’s Closer. From the line “you get me closer to God”

This was on MTV when I was in middle school and i was SO fascinated by this video. I used to have my hand on the remote to change it quick in case my parents walked in :face_with_peeking_eye:

I was there when nobody wanted to dance to this, and I with my friends were the first to dance to this, and I was there when it become incredibly popular, and when douche bags came to ask to the DJ “nanafokyoulikeananimal”" All that time, that song seems so reliable.

If you think this is strange, watch Marilyn Manson.

7:45 May I have one more drug please?

I love how this song discribes my personal relationship with life and how that betray feeling of something that’s totally mine and since it’s mine I can just fuck it to the way I want it to fucking be to me.

The algorithm is hitting too close to home

Damn you are so good at figuring song meanings out. Kudos.

Your missing the point of view… lol

Wubba Lubba Dub Dub! (To borrow the words of an awful man.)

Every strip club in Ft Laud/Miami played this every time i was there, lol

Wow, this is the most insightful reaction i’ve seen about this song. This song is in an album called ‘Downward Spiral’ about just what you’re describing.

The look on your face tells me you have no idea who Joel-Peter Witkin is. You should check out his work and the documentary An Objective Eye. Bit fair warning it is not for the faint of heart.

Was brought up on NIN since birth. Love/hate some songs/albums but I will always love “them”. Trent is a genius
