This song, in my opinion, helps so much to understand what you feal when your falling without seeing the end. To anyone feeling like this, know you’re not alone. The hardest part is to open up and you are one step away from rising again. Trust me, take that step forward and rise to the top!

I cry to Lost, Drown, and this. So fckin relateable. Drown is helping me with my depression and Lost is literally a commentary on my life

The feeling of not being able to drown your demons is an all too feeling that I’ve always tried to describe to my counselors the first time I ever heard this and I told them to listen to the song they did they turned around and put me in the hospital I told them that I didn’t want to die but this song hit on every single level that I can feel when I’m in my dark depression and feeling like I want to end it when you have the idolization of suicide because a lot of things in life have not gone right or have not been fair for you you keep looking to find a way to make it easier but it never does so you just keep pushing and pushing

It is so nice seeing therapist who enjoy metal, I know for a lot of people including myself that metal/Music is the only escape we really have, and having a therapist that understands how metal can truly be is amazing. Metal is the most amazing thing to come out Oli is just such a powerful vocalist, with the best lyrics.

One very important thing that people usually tend to forget, it’s that the lyrics are just a part of the entire emotion, without the proper pacing and tempo of the instruments the lyrics don’t feel as impactful.
In my opinion at least.

As someone with both Borderline Personality Disorder and cyclothymia; suicidal ideation, self harm, alcohol dependance and escapism are things i deal with daily. I can say without hyperbole that very few other bands, other than maybe linkin park or three days grace’s later albums, encapsulate that feeling more than BMTH does. Metalcore isnt even my normal genre of choice, i personally prefer 80’s goth rock, Black Aggrotech and Doom Metal. But BMTH are my go to when i need to escape my own head, nothing and noone comes close to how Oli is able to portray the feelings of absolute terror, desolation and isolation that come with the road to mental perdition.

I saw this song performed live last weekend and Oli gave a speech before saying he wrote this after leaving rehab about how he felt during his addiction. He also got very emotional when the crowd began to sing with him.
