Hi. Thanks for not interrupting the solos. To understand the lyrics you must watch the movie The Wall…but be ready!!!
You should do wish you were here by Pink Floyd
I Saw Them live in 1988. Still remembers. Gilmours solo is epic.
The guitar solo is about the song, it’s so cool! I’m autistic & unmedicated adhd though so numbness is absolutely sought.
For your information: the guitar solo in this song is almost unanimously considered the best guitar solo of all time.
Well Said…
Listen to the live version
Douglas Adams once wrote about how Mark Knopfler could make a Fender Strat hoot a sing like a choir of angels. For Adams’ 42nd birthday, Gilmour gave him the present of performing live with Pink Floyd. I like to think Gilmour extending Comfortably Numb’s solo and adding in the screaming part was his response to Adams.
You don’t listen to Pink Floyd’s music, you experience it.
The song is about a nut.
And actually said that child is grown . .
The numbskulls will never understand
Fender made the Stratocaster,
and God made David Gilmore to play it.
Next profession to experience Pink Floyd ?
Accountant or Lion tamer ? ?
You gotta listen to The turning away by pink floyd
David Gilmore speaks through his guitar. It’s amazing his voice is one of a kind. He is a founding member of Pink Floyd. Rodger Waters was also. Something happened between them and he was forced out… I would tell you the story but I don’t want to mess it up. I think they had different views of where the band should go. Pink Floyd has been around since I was a kid (I am 58 now). They have a fascinating story…
This album speaks of my life.
Floyd is my captive to keep from death.
In a world of fast food music, Pink Floyd welcomes you to a banquet.
One of the few reaction videos that hasn’t interrupted what is probably the best guitar solo of all time. Thank you.
I love Floyd and your Brummie accent was spot on.
I remember my father bringing home the VHS of this concert back in 1995, he got it from a friend of his. It was recorded from the PPV broadcast, unedited. The grainy picture and almost oversaturated sound gave it a magical viewing and a further appreciation of the music and presentation. Congrats on
discovering the Floyd! They have so much to offer so check out their catalog.
